What would be your reaction and feelings if you see such an advertisement now? It’s proven that a strong majority of the humans have technically condemned many thoughts, behaviors and practices that would look normal few decades or a century back.

How about the brands which published these kind of ads? It’s a norm that typical brands try to play based on the accepted social rules in their target market.

I’m not in a place to judge how or if these brands can be blamed ethically, yet as far as the science of marketing is concerned I can say these brands  have failed to predict the future and to distinguish themselves as the pioneer brands that might even play against the status quo. A brand is a media and shall act and be accountable like a media.

There are some insightful lessons for all of us in these twenty-three vintage ads that BoredPanda has published, and I believe at least some of them look very shameful today.

  1. Funny, but all these labels they’re trying to stick on Obama originated from MSM. Nothing wrong with being confident, unless you black. Heaven forbid! Then it becomes a criminal offense against white folks sesibsilitien.
